Beverly Coronavirus: Schools Look To Fill 'Learning Gaps'
The school system will not hold back students who fell behind after the state-mandated shutdown in March to slow the coronavirus spread.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Public Schools plans to promote students to the next grade, unless concerns had been raised prior to the state-ordered shutdown in March.
"I am aware that parents have many questions and concerns regarding the impact of the closure on their child’s progress and readiness for the coming grade level," Superintendent Sue Charochak said in a note to parents Monday. "Please let me assure you that we are well aware that many students will have some unfinished learning in their current grade, and we will be designing instruction to ensure that we provide multiple opportunities to address any gaps in learning while also attending to students that may be ready for extension activities."
