• YMCA Sharks swim coach captures USA Swimming Coach of the Year Award (cnhi.com) — A Beverly-based YMCA of the North Shore swim coach, Dave Modzelewski, has been honored as USA Swimming’s 2025 Jimi Flowers Disability Coach of the Year. Living in Beverly and leading the Sharks program, he’s also helped guide U.S. Para swimmers to major international success, including Paralympic and world championship medals. 
• Debt negotiation companies settle with CT banking regulator (hartfordbusiness.com subscription) — Two Massachusetts debt negotiation firms that operated out of Beverly’s Cummings Center have shut down nationwide after settling a long-running licensing dispute with Connecticut’s banking regulator. The companies, which once handled hundreds of Connecticut clients from their Beverly office, agreed to cease debt negotiation work unless they notify Connecticut before resuming operations there.
