Beverly Elementary Libraries Gifted $10,500

Last week, Bella's Fund donated $10,500 to Beverly elementary school libraries for new books and materials.

BEVERLY, MA – Beverly's five elementary schools and their libraries are about to get some new reading material. On World Read Aloud Day, Feb. 16, the Isabella Rose Marino Charitable Fund (Bella's Fund) donated $10,500 to the libraries for new books and materials.

Bella's Fund was created to honor Bella Marino, a 4-year-old Beverly girl who passed away from a rare blood disorder. The fund, run by Bella's friends and family, raises money for local organizations and projects that aim to improve the lives of children and families in and around Beverly.

Last Thursday, Mayor Mike Cahill read "The Misadventures of Sweetie Pie," by Chris Van Allsburg, of Beverly, to the second grade class at Cove Elementary. Bella's family then presented the check to Cahill, Assistant Superintendent Carol Charochak, and the elementary school principals.
