Beverly Family Fundraising For Puppy's Jaw, Broken During Break In
A 6-month-old English Bulldog need emergency surgery after her jaw was reportedly broken during a break in in Beverly.
BEVERLY, MA – Athena, a 6-month-old Olde English Bulldog, reportedly had her jaw broken when her Beverly home was broken into. According to a GoFundMe page for Athena, no one was home when the puppy was stomped on, and she now needs emergency surgery.
The GoFundMe has raised $5,220 of its $7,000 goal for the emergency surgery. According to the post, Athena's owner is a single mother.
Beverly Police Spokesman Officer Mike Boccuzzi said the incident was reported last Friday around 9:45 a.m. The break in is under investigation, and no arrests have been made.

"There’s a lot of moving parts to it," said Boccuzzi of the investigation.
The latest update to the GoFundMe said Athena was able to get some fresh air of Easter. She's being treated at Bulger Veterinary Hospital in North Andover, which is accepting donations over the phone at 978-722-2133.
