Beverly Holiday Piano Concert Set For First Parish Church

Beverly native Dan Kennedy will perform versions of traditional Christmas carols with a few popular favorites on Saturday.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly residents looking to get in the holiday spirit this weekend are invited to attend composer-pianist Dan Kennedy's holiday show at the First Parish Unitarian Church on Cabot Street.

Kennedy, a former city resident who now lives in Amherst, will perform his version of traditional Christmas carols with a few popular favorites mixed in from his CD "An Enchanted Christmas" — which has been streamed 750,000 times and played on 250 radio stations.

Featured concert pieces will include the dramatic Ukrainian tune "Carol of the Bells," the heartwarming "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," and the timeless "What Child is This?" a.k.a. "Greensleeves."

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show on Saturday are available at the door are $20; under 18 are $10. The show is open to the public.

Kennedy is a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory (1992) and the New England Conservatory (2004).

"The last couple of years have been a time of deep reflection and renewal for me," Kennedy said. "So, I hope we can all enjoy the holidays this year, and enjoy in particular the music of the seasons."
