
BEVERLY, MA – Everyone hopes for a good turnout at their events: Beverly Police can measure their success in pounds.
The police department collected 231 pounds of medication for Medication Disposal Day last weekend. Officers were in the Dodge Street CVS parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 22, collecting old medications from people that no longer needed them.
According to the Beverly Police Department Facebook page, 111 people turned in old medications.

Events like these happen nationwide, and are meant to prevent drug addiction on the notion that drug addiction can start in the medicine cabinet.
