Beverly Police Use Narcan on Overdose Victim

Officers administered Narcan to a man who was allegedly overdosing on Tuesday, and other police log items.

  • Authorities administered Narcan (the opioid reversal drug) to a man around 8 p.m. on Tuesday after officers responded to a possible car accident at the base of the Beverly/Salem bridge. Beverly firefighters also responded. The man was sent to Beverly Hospital, and charged with drunken driving, negligent driving, failing to drive within the marked lanes, and driving while on drugs.
  • Officers responded to a report of two men threatening a person with a metal pole around 5 p.m. Tuesday on Ropes Street. Police restored the peace.
  • On Wednesday morning, someone turned in a shotgun they found.
