Detours, One-Way Traffic Expected for Elliott Street Construction
Workers will be excavating and repaving Elliott Street from Cabot to Rantoul Street starting this week.
As part of the ongoing Route 1A project, the Middlesex Corporation will begin reconstruction on Elliott Street from Cabot to Rantoul streets. The work, beginning on or around Wednesday, Oct. 5, will cause detours and delays, and drivers should plan to avoid the area.
According to an update from the city, repaving of Elliott Street is scheduled to begin in late October.
The update says the work will begin with "pulverization" of the roadway, reconstruction of the roadbase, and excavation of the curbs and sidewalks. Pedestrians should also seek a different route at this time, though the businesses in that stretch will remain open.
