Fatal Beverly Crash Was A Suicide: Police
Beverly police said the woman who died after driving her car into a CVS had self-inflicted injuries, as well as injuries from the crash.

BEVERLY, MA — The woman who drove her car into the side of a CVS store on Dodge Street in Beverly early Wednesday morning was committing suicide. Beverly police said they found evidence of self-inflicted injuries as well as injuries from the crash when they responded to the store around 1:40 a.m. Police have not released the identity of a 24-year-old woman, pending notification of her family.
"Preliminary investigations revealed the self-inflicted injuries, in addition to the crash were a suicide attempt," Beverly police said in a statement. "At the time of the crash the store was occupied only by employees and there were no other injuries."
The crash left a massive hole in the brick siding of the building and the car came to a stop just a few feet from the pharmacy counter. The woman, who was the lone occupant in the car, was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
