Essex Teen Injured During Zip Lining Accident, Flown To Boston

ESSEX, MA — A 19-year-old man was seriously injured during a zip lining accident on Friday evening, after he hit a tree and fell several feet, Essex Police Chief Paul Francis confirmed.

The teen fell approximately 8 to 10 feet after hitting a tree while zip lining at a Choate Street home, according to police.

First responders, including Essex firefighters and Manchester-by-the Sea paramedics got to the home around 5:45 p.m. and treated and stabilized the teen at the scene by the Essex Fire Department. The teen was brought to a landing zone at Shepard Memorial Park, where he was med-flighted to a Boston hospital for injuries that are considered serious, police said.
