Farms Fireworks Show Postponed

The fireworks show off West Beach, originally scheduled for July 4th, has been rescheduled, according to the Beverly Farms Improvement Society.

The Beverly Farms fireworks have been postponed from the Fourth of July to Saturday, July 5, according to the Beverly Farms improvement Society.

The Horribles parade will still go ahead as scheduled on July 4, along with the rest of the village’s Independence Day festivities – rain or shine.

The decision to postpone and reschedule the Farms-Prides fireworks and shoreline illumination was because of "the impending stormy weather moving into our area," the Society said.

Wristbands will be required for entry to West Beach all day on July 5.

While the forecast for Saturday looks good, BFIS officials said sea conditions still may not allow the fireworks barge to be moved to the mooring off West Beach and may also not allow the safe loading of the fireworks.

"We are working closely with the fireworks provider, barge operator and public safety officials," the Society said in an announcement issued on Thursday morning. "We must put safety first, and if there are unsafe sea conditions on Saturday, we may have to reschedule the show."

If Saturday’s fireworks show is postponed or rescheduled, an announcement will be made Saturday morning.
