Fatal Heroin Overdose Leads to Drug Distribution Arrest

A Dorchester man is facing multiple drug charges after investigation following fatal OD on Saturday.

Beverly, MA - A Dorchester man is facing multiple drug charges following an investigation into a fatal heroin overdose on Hale Street over the weekend.

On Saturday, March 26, Beverly officers responded to a Hale Street address for a reported fatal heroin overdose. Following the overdose, detectives from the criminal investigations division gathered information which led to the arrest of Jose A. Paulino, 26 of 497 Huntington Ave. in Dorchester on charges of possession with intent to distribute Class A Heroin, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and conspiracy to violate drug charges.

On Monday, March 28 using information gathered from the overdose victims cellphone, detectives set-up a meeting to purchase heroin. A meeting took place in which undercover detectives purchased heroin from Paulino. Detectives recovered an amount of heroin and cocaine, as well as seized a Volvo XC90, cash and Paulino’s cellphone. Assisting in the investigation were officers from Wenham Police Department, and Manchester-by-the-Sea Police Department.
