Submit Your Idea For The Beverly Middle School Mascot

What do you think the new Beverly Middle School mascot should be?

BEVERLY, MA – A new school needs a new logo, and Beverly wants it to come from the students.

"We've tried to be as inclusive as possible throughout all phases of this project," said Briscoe Middle School Prinicpal Matthew Poska. "As we got into this part of it, we realized there's still one group of stakeholders who we haven't included as much as we've liked."

Poska said students will have the opportunity to submit their own logo design. But for a new logo, the school needs a new mascot. Current and former Beverly residents are invited to submit their ideas for a new mascot by Oct. 28, using this online form.

The middle school will take the top ideas from the survey, and students in grades four through eight will vote on which idea is best on Nov. 7, said Poska.

He said the colors will still be black and orange, but Briscoe's current mascot – a cougar – will be replaced. Grades one through 12 will have the opportunity to submit their logo design incorporating the new mascot. The Beverly Guild of Artists and Montserrat College of Art will lend a hand during that process.
