Homecoming on Monday, Aug. 4: Bike Rodeo, Ice Cream Social and Historical Walk

A look at Beverly Homecoming events on Monday, Aug. 4.

The fourth day of the 49th annual Beverly Homecoming on Monday, Aug. 4 includes a Bicycle Safety Rodeo, Ice Cream Social and a Historical Walking Tour of Downtown.

Lawn Games and Popsicles; 8–10 a.m., Senior Center, 90 Colon St, Beverly Free - Everyone welcome. Open to all ages. For more info call Annie Wright at 978-921-6017

Tours of Hospital Point Lighthouse; 12–4 p.m. Hospital Point, Bayview Avenue, Free.

Beverly Bootstraps Tours; 1pm – 3pm, Beverly Bootstraps, 371 Cabot St. Free

Kiwanis/Beverly Police Department Bicycle Safety Rodeo; 4–7 p.m. Lynch Park. Free. Age-appropriate obstacle course constructed and directed by Beverly Police Department officers. Members of the Kiwanis Club of Beverly will offer safety information and provide a helmet for all children in need of one. Quantities limited.
There will also be a drawing for free bicycles!
The U.S. Coast Guard will be on hand with their Go Fast Boat.
The MA State Police will be bringing their Bear Cat vehicle and the Stop Team.
The Beverly Fire Department will have their Dive Truck and remote control truck “Patches” on hand to entertain the kids. For more info call Ted Goodell at 978-922-1212 or Mark Pecukonis at 978-766-1480.

Ice Cream Social: 5:30–7:30 p.m. Lynch Park. Proceeds to benefits Beverly Homecoming Fireworks.Sponsored by State Rep. Jerry Parisella and Fort Beverly.$5 for adults and $3 for seniors and children.

Beverly High School Alumni Soccer Game: 6– 8 p.m., High School Turf Field. For more info call Kevin Leahy at 978-578-2426

Historical Walking Tour of Beverly Harbor Waterfront; 6:45–8:15 p.m., Meet at Beverly Common. Historian Fred Hammond will talk about the historic sites in downtown Beverly including the Beverly Common, Public Library and Old South Meeting House. Fred will talk about the history of the sites and architecture in this area. Donation $5 to benefit Beverly Historical Society.
