Hundreds Without Power After Wednesday's Storm
Wednesday's storm knocked out power to several hundred homes in Beverly's Centerville neighborhood.

More than 200 homes in the Centerville neighborhood of Beverly were without electricity on Wednesday night following the rain and snow storm.
National Grid said about 205 homes were without power in the area of Grover streets and Middlebury Lane. The outage, which occurred at about 7:30 p.m., was caused by a downed tree and wires on Grover Street near Essex Street.
The road was blocked in the area and a crew had been assigned to make repairs, as of 9:30 p.m. Power was expected to be restored by 11:30 p.m., according to National Grid.

It was the only significant power outage caused by Wednesday’s storm, which left about an inch of slushy snow in parts of Beverly and even less in other areas. Across the state, more than 20,000 homes and businesses served by National Grid were without power on Wednesday night. Up north in Maine and New Hampshire, tens of thousands of homes were without power and a reporter for WMUR-TV in New Hampshire said the snapping of tree branches “brings flashbacks of Ice Storm” in 2008.
