Local Man Arrested for OUI Following Car Crash Into Tree

Friday, Jan. 4

  • A fight between brothers was reported on Kelleher Road at 5:35 p.m.
  • Police were called to a dispute on Rantoul Street at 6:16 p.m. A female who did not live at the residence said she wanted to have the man who lived in the apartment removed because he was intoxicated. Police sent her on her way.
  •  Police were called to Rantoul Street at 11:38 p.m. on report of a person shooting a BB gun.

Saturday, Jan. 5

  • A cellphone was reported stolen on Cabot Street at 9:30 a.m.
  • A neighbor dispute over a shared driveway was reported on Essex Street at 9:55 a.m. 
  • Police were called to McKay Street at 5:23 p.m. on report of a car stuck in the road. The vehicle was out of gas, and the situation was handled by AAA.
  • Police were called to Essex Street on report of a dog locked in a vehicle for more than an hour, unattended at 7:12 p.m. When police arrived the vehicle was gone.
  • Three carloads of people were reported hanging out Cherry Hill Drive at 9:15 p.m. Police sent them on their way.
  • Police were called to Dunham Road on report of possible gunshots in the area at 9:42 p.m. Police found remnants of fireworks in the area.
  • Police were made aware of a harrassment via Facebook on Federal Street at 10:15 p.m.

Sunday, Jan. 6

  • At 3:05 a.m. police responded to a car crash into a tree on Rantoul Street. Dany Chun, 25, of 90 Broadway in Salem, was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, reckless operating of a vehicle, and operating without a license.
  • Police were called to Beverly Hospital at 10:47 a.m. on report of a woman who was causing problems and would not leave. Police brought her to her residence in Lynn.
  • A shoplifting at Stop & Shop received a summons to court at 12:23 p.m.
  • At 4:08 p.m. police were called to a Railroad Avenue home on report of a smell, as well as a box in the basement that was 'consistent with a meth lab.' Police were unable to gain access due to locked doors, but discovered the scent was a skunk, and there was no suspicious box in the basement. Police spoke with the third floor resident, who said he/she had recently done laundry in the basement, and had not noticed anything suspicious.
  • Police were called to Hale Street at 6:03 a.m. on report of loud music and threats between two people.
  • Items were reported stolen from a Lovett Street residence at 6:16 p.m.
  • An intoxicated individual was reported passed out, outside on River Street at 6:18 p.m.
  • A purse was reported stolen at a Simon Street residence at 10:17 p.m.
