Montserrat College of Art Commencement

BEVERLY - Montserrat College of Art held the Class of 2025 Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 16th at 10 am at the Cabot Theater in Beverly. The Class of 2025 and guests were welcomed into the Cabot to celebrate the accomplishments of the 66 graduates who each received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in various concentrations.

Students elected Deon Agyeman of Bristol, CT as be their student speaker, and Fabrications Lab Manager and Sculpture Faculty Hannah Jacoby-Brooks, as the faculty speaker. The keynote address was given by multi-disciplinary artist Paul Emmanuel, a Zambia-born artist who is currently a Fulbright Scholar and preparing for an exhibition of his work at The Smithsonian in Washington, DC. Emmanuel holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, and a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He is the Director of Civic Engagement for the Tour de Force Foundation, Washington, DC, and is a curriculum producer for the Medical College of Wisconsin’s discussion series Talking with Monuments: Veteran Dialogues on Remembering. He was awarded an honorary doctor of fine arts, which was presented by Montserrat’s President Brian Pellinen. Montserrat Trustee Chair Mercedes Sherrod Evans also delivered remarks.

Following the ceremony, the graduates and their guests returned to Montserrat’s Hardie Building to view the “All Senior Show” on display at Montserrat Gallery.
