Obituary: Clayton P. "Bucky" Youden, 89, Avid Boater, Longtime Beverly Resident
Clayton P. "Bucky" Youden, 89, was a former member of the Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly and the North East Surf Patrol.

Clayton P. “Bucky” Youden, 89, died peacefully in the Brentwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Helen (Taylor) Youden who died in 2008. Born in Somerville on Dec. 14, 1924, he was the son of the late Alfred L. and Rita (Hatcher) Youden. He had resided in Beverly for many years before moving to Garfield, Texas in 1987. He returned to the North Shore in 1999 and settled in Danvers.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was honorably discharged as a sergeant on March 2, 1947. Bucky was employed as a finish carpenter for Brown Kitchen and Bath in Danvers for several years before his retirement in 1986. He had also once worked as a dock master for Beverly Harbor Marina, Cape Ann Marina and Miller Wharf Marina in Salem for many years. He was a member of the A.P. Gardner Post #194, American Legion in Hamilton and a former member of the Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly and the North East Surf Patrol. He loved boating and enjoyed camping with his family and friends in Naples, Maine.
He is survived by his son, Robert Trask and his wife, Linda (Mailhoit) of Danvers; two daughters, Patricia Ottley of Danvers and Shelia Polizzi and her husband, Robert of Garfield, Texas; five grandchildren, Pamela Griffin, Frank Ottley, Deborah Ottley, Tracey Trask and Clayton Polizzi; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law, Francis Ottley.

His visitation will be held on Wednesday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly from 4–6 p.m. followed by a service at 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970. Interment will be privately held in North Beverly Cemetery.
