Obituary: Joseph E. Thompson, 63, Talented Musician was Longtime Beverly Resident

Joseph E. Thompson, 63, died on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by his family.

Joseph E. Thompson, 63, beloved son of the late Edward J. and Catherine F. (Purcell) Thompson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by his family.

Joseph was born in Salem and was a long time resident of Beverly. He was a graduate of Saint Peter’s High School in Gloucester. Joseph has had a deep love of music and was a talented musician.

He is survived by his three sisters: Mary Dyer and her husband David of Connecticut, Catherine Thompson of Hamilton and Elizabeth Thompson of Hamilton; five nieces and nephews: Marc Thompson, Caitlyn Thompson Griffin, Craig Thompson, Stephen Dyer and Patrick Dyer; and three great nieces: Anna, Paige and Savannah; and cousin: Catherin Heffernan Almeda. He is predeceased by his brothers: Gerald S. Thompson and Michael J. Thompson.

Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. At the request of the family, funeral services will be held privately.
