In the end, Frederick Donovan 51, of 9 Mason St., Beverly and David Dziadyk 45, of 22 Bridge St., Salem were arrested and charged with possession of Class A drug, heroin.
After seeing the drug deal, police said Nolan saw Dziadyk approach and enter a brown van with two other men inside. Nolan kept watching the van and saw two men get out of the van and walk toward a residence in the area where work was being done. Donovan stayed in the van. That was when Officer Dan DiVincenzo arrived and approached the van to allegedly find evidence of drug use in the vehicle.

Officers ordered Donovan out of the van and while he was getting out, police said officers saw him attempting to chew and swallow something.
They believed Donovan was attempting to secrete drugs and he was ordered to spit out what was in his mouth. He complied and officers recovered a small clear twist containing a substance believed to be heroin, police said. Donovan also had more of the substance hidden in his sock, according to police.
Officers then searched the van and found identification belonging to Dziadyk, who was found working on the residence. Dziadyk was then arrested too and taken back to the police station without incident. Officers found about $400 worth of heroin on the men, police said.
