Parisella Reelected State Rep

The 6th Essex District in the state House of Representatives will continue to be represented by Jerry Parisella of Beverly.

State Rep. Jerry Parisella will serve a third term in the House of Representatives.

Parisella, a Democrat, received 9,891 votes to Libertarian Rick Marciano’s 3,442 votes, according to the tally from City Clerk Kathy Connolly.

Parisella, an Army veteran and Judge Advocate, was first elected in 2010 when then-state Rep. Mary Grant decided to not seek releection. In the most recent term, Parisella was the Vice Chairman of the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs and also serves on the Joint Committee on Election Laws and Joint Committee on Transportation.

Marciano, a former Army sergeant, ran unsuccessfully against Parisella in 2012 and has previously run for City Council and mayor.

Parisella will continue to represent the 6th Essex district, which includes all of Beverly.
