Paving This Week to Close Lanes, Cause Delays Near Hospital, Schools
Brimbal Avenue, Tozer Road and Herrick Street will be some of the road that will be ground and paved this week.

A paving project along several major roads in Beverly starting Tuesday is expected to close lanes and cause backups and congestion this week.
Sohier and Tozer roads and Herrick Street will be paved starting Tuesday. Beverly Hospital, as well as all the other businesses in the area, will remain open and accessible during the work, according to the Beverly Department of Public Services.
Also, Tuesday through Thursday, grinding work in advance of new pavement will done on Brimbal and Budleigh avenues, Brimbal Hill Drive, plus Laurel and Dodge streets. This is the area near the North Beverly train station and North Beverly Elementary School. There is no school on Tuesday, but the school is a polling spot for Ward 5 in Tuesday’s primary election, so voters should expect to encounter workers in the area if they are headed to the polls. Anyone heading to and from the train station this week should expect delays.

Hannah School will also be ground during the Tuesday through Thursday timeframe. There’s no school on Tuesday and, unlike North Beverly, Hannah School is not used as a polling spot.
Those same areas will be paved on Friday, Sept. 12.

“We highly recommend you avoid these streets and take alternate routes,” the DPS said in an announcement about the work. “Traffic will be restricted to one lane in one direction only; Expect delays.”
