Peabody Superintendent Finalist Selected For Malden Job

PEABODY, MA – The Malden School Committee meeting Monday night saw the selection of Somerville High Principal John Oteri as the next Malden Public Schools Superintendent.

The official move, however, is still pending a contract agreement with Oteri, who is also up for the superintendent position in Peabody.

The other finalist in Peabody is Debra Ruggiero, an elementary school principal in Lynn.

The committee voted, 6-3, in favor of Oteri over four other finalists.

Former Malden High Principal Dana Brown and Interim Superintendent Charles Grandson were two of the five candidates.
