Police Called for Dispute Over Rosary Beads

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department:
Monday, Dec. 3
- A found iPhone was returned to the police station at 7:43 a.m.
- A purse was reported stolen on Ropes Street at 1:07 p.m.
- Police recovered several needles that had been discovered in a room on Vine Street at 1:47 p.m.
- Police were called to Wallis Street on report of a vehicle that had been parked in the same spot for a year, at 2:30 p.m. Police discovered the inspection sticker expired in January 2010. The vehicle was towed.
- At 3:23 p.m. police arrested Joanna Peralta, 35, of 10 Simon St., on warrant charges.
- Police were called to Broadway at 6:06 p.m. on report of a woman who wouldn't leave the area. The woman told police she wanted to collect her rosary beads, which she said she had lent to another woman. Police said the other woman denied she had the rosary beads.
- A purse was reported stolen on Elliott Street at 6:31 p.m.
- Police were called to Lyman Street on multiple calls about an erratic driver at 7:42 p.m. Police spoke to the man in question, who they determined was not impaired. The man told police a woman had cut him off and started following him.

- Police searched the area of 12 Curtis Pt. at 6:40 a.m. for potential break-in suspects, following suspicious activity earlier in the week where bootprints were found on their pool cover. No one was found.
- Police were called to Hannah Elementary on report of a parent and a crossing guard having a verbal argument at 8:06 a.m. Both parties were spoken to, and went their separate ways.
- At 8:34 a.m. police arrested David Testa, 57, of 12 Picket St., on warrant charges.
- Police stopped an elderly woman driving eractically on Cabot Street at 3:49 p.m. They discovered she was having a diabetic reaction, and was transported to the hospital.
- Police were called to Park Street at 6:32 p.m. on report of an intoxicated man walking dogs. The man was taken home safely by a co-worker.
- Police were made aware of a deer that was struck by a car at 10:44 p.m. on Grover Street.
Wednesday, Dec. 5
- Threats were reported from Odell Street at 2:47 p.m.
- A laptop was reported either stolen or lost from Beverly High School at 2:43 p.m.
- Smoke was seen coming from the roof of a McKay Street residence at 4:22 p.m. Beverly Fire determined it was a boiler problem.
- Police spoke to a woman on Cabot Street at 7:14 p.m., who reported that she believed she was drugged Tuesday night.
