Middle School Boy Stabbed Girl: Police

ROCKPORT, MA — A 13-year-old student at Rockport Middle School was arrested after he stabbed a female classmate before school Monday morning, police said. The victim suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

The stabbing took place around 7:30 a.m. The school went into lockdown mode until the suspect was found outside the building. He was arrested and will face numerous charges in Salem Juvenile Court. He is not being identified due to his age.

School continued Monday with an increased police presence. Superintendent Robert Liebow wrote to parents that they could dismiss their children if they want.
