School Time Capsule to be Opened Saturday

The Saturday afternoon event at McKay School will honor the building's history.

A time capsule dating back to 1982 will be opened on Saturday morning.

It comes from the McKay School, which will be soon converted to apartments by Windover Developer.

The event will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1 in the foyer of the McKay Street school with a display of historical items from the Winslow and McKay schools, provided by the Beverly Historical Society. There will also be a Memory Book for visitors to sign.

The time capsule will be opened shortly after 1:30 p.m. following some speeches, including a few words by Mayor Mike Cahill.
