Search is on For Kidnapping Suspect Near Beverly-Wenham Line

A man allegedly kidnapped a woman at knife-point from her Wenham home on Friday night and police were hunting for them near the Beverly line

Police in Wenham and Beverly are hunting for the suspect in kidnapping at knifepoint in Wenham on Friday night.

It happened at about 10 p.m. at a home on Topsfield Road (Route 97), not far north of the Beverly line. Police in the area were asked to be on the lookout for the suspect, a 23-year-old man last seen wearing a white tank top, green jeans and a black cap.

The suspect and the victim, a young woman, know each other. It was believed the suspect had fled with the victim on foot and was in the area of the Beverly-Wenham town line near Beverly Airport. The suspect lives in Salem and police in that city were also asked to be on the lookout. A dog from the State Police had been called in, as of 11 p.m., according to a tweet from State Police.
