Stopped in the road to play Pokemon Go, a grenade that turned out to be something else, and more from the Beverly Police log.

  • Officers responded to a report of a man trying to break into a garage on Linden Avenue on Thursday around 3:30 a.m. The homeowner reportedly turned on the lights, and the man fled in a green pickup truck.
  • Police responded to a report of a coyote eating roadkill on McPherson Drive on Friday around 6 a.m. The coyote left the area.
  • Someone called police to report loud noise coming from a Crossfit gym on Park Street on Friday around 6:30 a.m. Officers did not find the music to be at an unacceptable level.
  • Officers responded to a report of drunk people yelling off of a deck on Railroad Avenue on Sunday around 5:30 p.m.
  • A white man with a beard, wearing dark clothing, reportedly used a large piece of metal to demand money from the cash register at a Cabot Street convenience store on Tuesday around 9 a.m. Police say nothing was stolen, but a liquor store on Bridge Street was robbed shortly after.
  • Police were called to Herrick Street on Tuesday evening one a report of a teenager being rude to his mother.
  • Officers took a report of someone stealing stones from a Bancroft Avenue address on Tuesday around 6 p.m.
  • Police went to the Dominos on Beckford Street after a man walked into the pizza shop on Wednesday around 1 a.m. asking for help.
  • Someone reported a suspicious item on Greene Street, possibly a grenade on Wednesday around 6 p.m. Officers found the item was a rubber plunger.
  • A woman stopped in the middle of the lane at Brimbal Avenue and Colon Street with the car's hazard lights on was reportedly playing Pokemon Go and trying to catch a Pokemon around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday. Officers told her it wasn't safe to stop in the middle of a lane.
  • Police responded to a report of a turkey struck on Route 128 north close to the Wenham line on Thursday around 7 p.m.
