Sunday Snowstorm Postpones Beverly Polar Plunge For 2 Weeks
The Polar Plunge fundraiser has been postponed until Feb. 23.

BEVERLY, MA — The annual Beverly Polar Plunge was postponed for two weeks on Friday because of Sunday's impending snowstorm.
The North Shore Community Development Coalition and Lifebridge North Shore said on Friday the Lynch Park event was postponed for the safety of participants as they make their way to the frigid waters for a good cause.
"Our top priority is the safety of our participants, volunteers, and spectators," said Ashley Ganem, Director of Development at North Shore CDC. "With significant snowfall forecasted, we want to avoid unsafe driving (and diving) conditions and ensure the parking lot is fully plowed for everyone's safety."

All proceeds go to North Shore CDC, an organization that provides housing to 474 households in Beverly, Salem, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Gloucester in addition to operating a youth workforce development, small business support and public art programs; and Lifebridge North Shore, an organization that provides shelter, housing, case management and supportive services to individuals on the North Shore.
"While the delay is disappointing, the extra time provides an opportunity for participants to continue fundraising and raising awareness for the crucial work of North Shore CDC and Lifebridge North Shore, two organizations dedicated to combating homelessness and housing insecurity on the North Shore," Ganem said.
Registration will automatically transfer to the new date. Those who can't make it on the 23rd can still fundraise or take the plunge on your own — send your videos to be included in the awards.
There's still time to register and make an impact. Here is a link to the Polar Plunge website.
