Suspicious Bucket, Misidentified Tree Stump: North Shore Police Logs

NORTH SHORE, MA – Lot of misunderstandings this week on the North Shore, from a misidentified tree stump to a McDonald's bag.
- Someone walked into the police station last Wednesday around 8:30 a.m. with an item found on Devereuax Beach he thought could be an explosive. Police asked him to take the item out of the station and leave it on the curb, and later determined it was a piece of fishing equipment.
- A tree stump was misidentified as a person in camouflage last Thursday morning near Pleasant Street.

- Police responded to a report of a group throwing bottles on Middlebury Lane last Friday around 8:30 p.m. Officers found there were no bottles, just a McDonald's bag.
- Officers stopped a driver on Sohier Road on Monday around 7 p.m. after he reportedly swerved into oncoming traffic in order to pass another driver. The driver told police the man was driving too slow, and "shouldn't own a sports car if he is going to drive like that." Police issued a citation.
- Police responded to a report of a vehicle stuck in the mud last Wednesday around 4 a.m. on Goldberg Road.
- Someone reported a sedan left running in a parking lot on Newbury Street on Wednesday around noon. Officers found the operator was just waiting for his dog to be groomed.
- Police responded to a "huge miscommunication" after someone reported that there were kids breaking into cars on Oak Street on Wednesday before midnight.
- A resident reported a suspicious bucket in a lobby on Walnut Street on Friday around 6 p.m. An officer removed the bucket.

- Officers sent a man with closed plastic bottle of beer on his way after responding to a call at Lappin Park on Tuesday around 6 p.m.
- Three men waiting for an Uber on Summit Avenue on Sunday around 3 a.m. were asked to wait further up the street and be quiet.
