'Tis the Season for New Restaurants; Have You Checked Out MarketStreet Yet?

Here's a round-up of business news from around the North Shore.

Here is a look at some recent business openings and happenings on the North Shore. Have you noticed a new shop and have been wondering what it is? Leave us a note in the comment section and we will check it out.


Danvers

Bonefish Grill is looking to come to town and is working toward acquiring that liquor license held by Steven Tedesco. And speaking of restaurants, Londi's has changed hands -- Ted Londi sold his shop, but not the alcohol license. That he gave back to the town. In other news, Danvers Indoor Sports is planning a big addition and Wireless Analytics was recently named one of the fastest-growing companies in the nation.


Peabody

Brooksby Village has a new executive director in Helen Lanagan, Boston Pets is no more and there are new developments in the works for Centennial Industrial Park (although one major company is planning to uproot and head north). In other news, Peabody recently held its annual Restaurant Week with more than 30 establishments offering specials, Kelly's Pub may not be coming to Peabody after all and Gallo Nero is under new ownership. Oh, and Fit Werx was rated the best bike shop in America.

Salem

The Great Escape has closed its doors, but a new burger place is taking up residence there soon. Among the plethora of new eateries and shops, a new Japanese restaurant is coming and Medusa's Cafe is open. Healthy Hounds Doggie Daycare is also open. No longer Red Lulu's, try "Lolita Cocina and Tequila Bar." And in other news, three Witch City businesses were named among the fastest-growing companies in the nation and the Peabody Essex Museum is moving ahead with a $200 million expansion.

Beverly

FroYo anyone? There's a new shop slated for a February opening on Cabot Street. There were four Beverly businesses on that fastest-growing list and a local dance studio just celebrated 10 years.

    Hamilton-Wenham

    Dr. Armida Dano is considered one of the best dentists in the country under 40, and she practices right in South Hamilton. Have you been over to MarketStreet in Lynnfield yet? The new Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse is actually owned by Steve DiFillippo of Wenham. In other news, the owner of the Canter Brook Equestrian Center says single-family homes are no longer in his plans for the property.

      Lynnfield

      MarketStreet is now off and running: you have Whole Foods, Legal C Bar, Wagamama, Yard HouseKings, Eastern Mountain Sports, J.P. Licks, Starbucks and lots more shops and restaurants, and a large rooftop farm too.

        Wakefield

        Three businesses in town were named to the list of fastest-growing companies in the nation, Sushi Island was sold and makes way for Sakura Organic and a local chiropractor is helping sports fans with "bleacher back."
