Tree Down on Tracks Delays Start for Some MBTA Train Service

No trains served some Beverly commuter rail station for the first two hours of the Thursday morning commute because of a tree on the tracks.

No MBTA commuter rail trains left Rockport station headed for Boston until almost 7 a.m. on Thursday morning because of a tree down on the tracks.

Typically, inbound trains leave Rockport at 5:05 a.m., 6:05 a.m. and 6:44 a.m. In Beverly, those are the only trains that serve the Beverly Farms, Prides Crossing and Montserrat stations.

At 6:57 a.m., the T said that the tree had been cleared and trains were rolling at slow speeds. The train that typically leaves Rockport at 6:44 a.m. was running 20-30 minutes late.
