Truck Slams Into Essex Street Home

A pickup truck slammed into an Essex Street home on Friday afternoon, injuring one person.

The crash happened at about 3:45 p.m. in the area of 80 Essex St., near the intersection of Burton Avenue, where a parked vehicle was also struck. The driver was taken by ambulance to Beverly Hospital.

The road was closed for about a half hour while emergency crews were on scene.

The truck was kept in place until the building could be shored up. The city building inspector was also called.
