Two Men With Drugs Break In Access Road Home

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police log: 

Monday, Nov. 12

  • Police were made aware of a Cabot Street business who suspected an employee was stealing items, at 11:21 p.m. The situation is still under investigation. 
  • A chimney fire was reported on Tyler Road at 7:51 p.m. Police said the build up in the chimney caused a lot of smoke in the area of Tyler Road and Hale Street. Beverly Fire Department cleared all of the wood out of the wood stove and advised them to have it cleaned. No damage was reported.
  • At 8:08 p.m. police responded to a reported fight inside a Chestnut Street apartment. Police arrested Walter Burns, 50, of 3 Chestnut St., on charges of assault and battery, and Suzanne Lafave, 24, of 3 Chesnut St., on assault charges.

  • At 4:30 p.m. two men were reportedly banging on the window to Rockport Bank, despite the fact that it was closed. Police said both appeared to be under the influence of drugs, and were sent on their way. 
  • A laptop was reported stolen from a vehicle on Kennell Hill Drive at 6:24 p.m.
  • Police receoverd a hypodermic needle from the front hallway of a Rantoul Street residence at 7:57 p.m.
  • An individual brought a 'bag of cash' he/she had found at the Swampscott Marshall's to the police department at 9:51 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 14

  •  Police were called to Beckford Street at 10:57 p.m. on report of a woman and man screaming at eachother. 
  • Police were called to the Beverly Public Library on report of a man talking loudly and banging on a table at 12:41 p.m. He was transported to the hospital. 
  • A home was reported broken into on Access Road at 2:12 p.m., which resulted in the arrest of two men. Police arrested Ruben Contreas, 33, of 284 Maple St. in Lynn, on charges of breaking and entering in the daytime for felony, operating with a revoked license, receiving stolen property, possession of a class b drug, and possession with intent to distribute. Angel Millan, 36, of 37 Lynn St. in Peabody, was arrested on charges of breaking and entering in the daytime for felony, receiving stolen property, and possession of a class c drug.
