An officer was struck by a car but wasn't injured, an 18 wheeler struggled to make a turn, and more from the Beverly Police log.

  • Police responded to a report of a car running in an Enon Street parking lot with someone in it on Thursday around 7 p.m. Officers found it was someone who had pulled over to make a phone call.
  • A car struck an officer on Thursday around 10:30 p.m. as the driver was pulling off of Route 128 at Brimbal Avenue. The officer said there was no immediate injury, and no damage to the car.
  • Flamur Jahaj, 54, of Beverly, was arrested on charges of drunken driving and resisting arrest last Thursday around midnight after police stopped a car on Rantoul Street.
  • Police responded to a report of a neighbor dispute on Friday around 7:30 p.m. on Apple Road after a person reportedly drained a cooler on a balcony, which then dripped onto the neighbor below.
  • Norman Russell, 78, of Beverly, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and violating a city ordinance regarding weapons last Saturday around 2 p.m. after a report of an unruly patient at Beverly Hospital.
  • Officers responded to a report of a woman swinging a stick at cars on Bridge Street around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police found there was no stick.
  • Traffic was backed up in all four directions at Park and Federal streets after an 18 wheeler couldn't make the turn onto Park Street in the detour on Monday around 8 a.m. Officers helped the driver make the turn.
  • Police responded to a report of people locked in a room with no keys on Cabot Street on Monday around 4:30 p.m. The fire department helped force the door open.
  • Nicole Jean Cormier, 30, of Beverly, was arrested on charges of unlicensed driving, possession of a class B drug, and a warrant on Tuesday around 11:30 a.m. in the area of Colon Street.
