1 Dead After Truck Hits Tree, Nearly Splits In Half In Dorchester
The driver of a pickup truck died after his truck hit a tree Wednesday night. Pieces of the vehicle could be seen on the side of the road.
BOSTON, MA — A man has died following a Wednesday night crash in Dorchester that essentially split the pickup truck he was driving in half, multiple news outlets reported.
The truck reportedly hit a tree, causing it to sustain serious damage and "nearly split in half," NBC Boston reported. Boston EMS responded to the crash, which was in the area of Talbot Avenue, at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, the TV station said.
Though video showed several firefighters attempting to free the driver from the truck, he was pronounced dead at the scene, 7 News Boston reported. His name has not yet been released.

NBC Boston said the truck could be seen "in pieces" on the side of Talbot Avenue early Thursday morning, though it has since been towed from the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, 7 News Boston said, but temperatures had dropped below freezing and light snow was falling at the time.
