$15K Bail For Lyft Driver; Attorney Argues Stabbing Was Self-Defense
The hurt 21-year-old was in serious condition.

BOSTON, MA — A judge on Tuesday set a $15,000 bail for a Lyft driver accused of stabbing a young woman Christmas night.
Driver Kiona Thomas, 25, of Roslindale, stands accused and has entered a "not guilty" plea. According to CBS Boston, her attorney argued Thomas was acting out of self-defense.
Thomas responded to a request for a ride Sunday night on Blue Hill Avenue. A fight ensued, reportedly over the number of passengers, and Thomas allegedly stabbed a young woman, resulting in serious injuries.

According to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office, the victim was called down by the would-be Lyft passenger. Thomas allegedly stabbed the woman, 21, in the neck before fleeing the scene.
She later turned herself in to police, the DA's office said.

The victim, meanwhile, found her way to a nearby fire station, where she received emergency aid before being taken to the hospital, according to the DA's office.
In addition to the $15,000 bail, Thomas has been ordered to stay away from the victim, witnesses, and the scene of the crime.
She will next go before the court Jan. 27.
A Lyft spokesperson previously told Patch the company is "deeply saddened to hear about this report," and is available to work with law enforcement to assist in their investigation.
