17-Year-Old Shot, Injured Near Dorchester High School: Reports
The Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester was locked down as police continued to look for a suspect Tuesday morning.

BOSTON —A 17-year-old was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries after being shot near the Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The school is in lockdown as Boston police investigate. Streets around the school, which is located at 60 Washington Street in Dorchester, are blocked off. The school is surrounded in crime scene tape and police were seen laying evidence markers on the sidewalk across the street from the school.
In a Twitter post from the scene, WVCB reporter Matt Reed said people at the school were "screaming/crying."

Tuesday's shooting comes three weeks after an 18-year-old student was stabbed twice during lunch at the school. About 330 students in grades 9-12 are enrolled in the school.
