2 Arrests Made In Harvard Medical School Explosion Incident

The explosion is believed to have been intentionally set.

BOSTON, MA — The FBI announced two arrests in connection to an explosion that took place at Harvard Medical School this past weekend.

Logan David Patterson, 18 and Dominique Frank Cardoza, 20, were taken into custody on Tuesday morning in connection with the incident. According to officials from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts, a Roman candle commercial firework was used by the two young men as the ignition for the indoor explosion.

The pair were seen fleeing the scene in opposite directions after the explosion on the fourth floor of the Goldenson Building at 220 Longwood Ave. that took place just before 3 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. The Attorney's Office said the release of surveillance footage of Patterson and Cardoza played a large role in identifying them.
