Around 4 a.m., all firefighters were ordered out of the building as the fire intensified. Freezing temperatures and a sharp windchill caused the water to freeze on contact, the Boston Fire Department said, creating difficult working conditions.

Fire Commissioner John Dempsey says they had to rescue one person, but no injuries were reported.
