26-Year-Old East Boston Man Dies After Motorcycle Crash

Police said crash had the exit 18 ramp in Brighton closed for about two hours.

BOSTON — A 26-year-old man from East Boston is dead after his motorcycle crashed early Wednesday morning on the Mass Pike. The crash had the exit 18 ramp in Brighton closed for about two hours, according to police.

Around 3:20 a.m., the man was riding an 2010 Yamaha YZFR1 motorcycle onto the Exit 18 ramp from Route 90 East, when for reasons still under investigation his tire struck the right side curb, throwing him from the bike.

When first responders got there, they pronounced him dead.

State Police, Boston Fire, EMS and MassDOT all came out to help at the crash site.

The man's name has not been released.
