2 Berklee Alumni Take Home Emmys, With 3 More Up For Tony Awards

Three Berklee alumni are nominated for Tony Awards, while two others took home Emmys for their work on 'Lovecraft Country.'

BOSTON — Three Berklee alumni have been nominated for Tony Awards, after 26 former students were nominated for Emmy Awards this year, with three of them winning big.

Of the 26 nominated for Emmys this year, one included the history-making recognition of Mj Rodriguez from FX's Pose, the first trans woman to be nominated in a lead acting category.

Berklee alumni Jeff Lingle and Jason Lingle took home awards for their contributions to the sound mixing and editing of HBO's Lovecraft Country.

When it comes to the Tony Awards, Charlie Rosen, a 2012 graduate, and three-time Drama Desk Awards nominee received a nomination in the Best Orchestrations category for his work co-orchestrating Moulin Rouge! The Musical.

Ebony Williams and John Cardoza, were part of the ensemble for Jagged Little Pill, the musical based on Alanis Morissette's hit 1995 album, which received a Tony nomination in the Best Musical category.

The Tony Awards will be held this Sunday, September 26, on CBS and Paramount+.
