5 Juveniles Arrested For Attempted Vehicle Theft In Boston
The incident took place in the neighborhood of Mattapan.
BOSTON, MA — The police department announced it arrested five juveniles between the ages of 14 and 17 after a foot pursuit earlier this week.
Mattapan Patrol officers observed the group in a parking lot on Washington Street at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday, and reportedly were attempting to steal a red moped. The group fled on foot when officers approached them but were detained after a short chase.
According to the moped owner, the group had previously tried to steal the vehicle from her that night while she was riding it on Talbot Avenue. The moped sustained damage in multiple places from its attempted theft.

The five have each been charged with unarmed robbery and malicious destruction of property worth less than $1,200.
