8-Year-Old Girl, Man Shot In Boston Park July 4

Now police are asking for the public's help in finding who shot them in the Dorchester Park.

BOSTON —A man in his 30s and an 8-year-old girl were shot in a park Thursday night during Fourth of July celebrations, sending them both to the hospital, police said. Now police are asking for the public's help in finding out what happened.

Police were called to the corner of Dudley and Folsom streets just before 11 a.m. where they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at Mary Hannon Park in Dorchester, according to police.

He was taken to a hospital where he was in critical condition. The child, who may have been related to him, was shot in the foot and was also taken to a hospital, where she was in stable condition, police said.

Police said there were a number of witnesses in the park at the time, but no arrests have been made, yet. Police are asking for the public's help in finding who shot the two.

The shooting came during a very busy night for police and fire.
