Another One Down: Boston Latin's Assistant Head Master Leaves, Too

But apparently not without lengthy parting shots at the Boston Public Schools superintendent.

BOSTON – One day after the head master of the nation's first public school resigned, Boston Latin School's assistant head master also took his leave this week.

Officials said late Wednesday they had accepted the resignation of BLS' Malcolm Flynn.

It's another sign of overhaul at the high-performing school, which has made national news through ongoing allegations of rampant racism. Those concerns fueled a call for BLS Head Master Lynne Mooney Teta's resignation. She left her post Tuesday after nine years.

According to The Boston Globe, Flynn submitted a three-page letter of resignation to the School Department Wednesday "in which he outlined his utter disappointment" in Boston Public Schools Superintendent Tommy Chang.

“What I am doing is telling the superintendent that I believe it was his job to get out in front and tell the truth about our school, but he didn’t,’’ Flynn told the paper.
