Boston Police ID Man Accused Of Stabbing Rabbi In Brighton
Khaled Awad, 24, of Brighton, is accused of stabbing a rabbi in front of the Shaloh House Jewish Day School in Brighton.

BOSTON — A Brighton man stabbed a rabbi in front of a Jewish school in Brighton Thursday, according to police.
Khaled Awad, 24, of Brighton, was arrested and charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a police officer.
As more information became available, many key points indicated towards this being an anti-Semitic assault.

Robert Trestan, of the Anti-Defamtion League of New England said, "We call on the Boston Police Department Civil Rights Unit to investigate yesterday's violent attack as a hate crime," Thursday morning.
Rabbi Shlomo Noginski, was taken to a nearby hospital, where police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

The stabbing was reported around 1:19 p.m. outside the Shaloh House Jewish Day School on Chestnut Hill Avenue near Dighton Street, according to Boston police.
Friday morning, two police cars were seen out front of the school as children started their day.
Chestnut Hill Avenue was detoured at Academy Hill Road and at Washington Road for at least two hours, prompting heavy traffic in the area.
