Arrest Made In Random Back Bay Station Attack
A man who attacked an officer is in custody after police say also he attacked a commuter waiting for his train - completely unprovoked.

BOSTON — A man who had previously attacked a police officer has been arrested after also assaulting a 58-year-old man at Boston's Back Bay MBTA Station.
Oscar Lyle, 55, of Mattapan, was arrested after being identified by the 58-year-old man who told police he attacked him.
On Sunday night, Transit police responded to a call of an assault within the Back Bay Station. Once officers got there, they found the victim who had cuts on his arm and his face was swolen. According to a police report, he told officers he was sitting on the bench waiting for a commuter rail train when he was punched in the face by a stranger - completely unprovoked.

The victim told officers he fell backward, and the man grabbed one of his sneakers and struck him again with his own shoe. Officers say the victim was able to identify his attacker, and officers immediately approached the man, identifying him as Lyle.
According to police, Lyle already had several warrants out for his arrest, including assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, trespassing, and resisting arrest.

Lyle was taken to Transit Police Headquarters for booking.
