Astoria Street Shooting Victim ID'd As Family of Two Killed in 2010 Slaying

A tragic story out of Mattapan.

Tragedy compounded upon tragedy this weekend in Mattapan, when Boston police identified the victim in a murder investigation late Monday as Andrew Flonory, killed six years after two in his family were murdered.

Flonory's sister and 2-year-old nephew were victims of a mass shooting in Mattapan that left four people dead in 2010, The Boston Globe reported.

Flonory, 31, was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound by police late Saturday night near 62 Astoria St. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A second victim was found nearby, suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds, police said. That victim was taken by Boston EMS to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
