BOSTON — The Bloomberg Billionaire Index tracks the world’s 500 richest people on an almost continuous basis, with the figures updated after the close of every trading day on the New York Stock Exchange.
Overall, 176 of the 500 richest people are American, and U.S. citizens also make up seven of the top 10 richest people globally. Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon, maintains his spot as the richest person in the world.
Six Massachusetts billionaires are on the elite list, including members of the Johnson family that founded and own Fidelity Investments, and Patriots owner Robert Kraft:
