BOSTON, MA — The city has partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts to provide complementary Bluebikes to be used during the current MBTA Green Line closure.

The Authority announced earlier this month that service of the Green Line will be suspended from the Medford/Tufts to Park Street stations from Friday, Dec. 6 through Friday, Dec. 20.

Bluebikes Boston is a bicycle-sharing system founded in 2011.It has nearly 500 stations throughout the Boston metropolitan area. During the closure, unlock codes will be available for non-members of the system. Each rider is granted five complementary 30-minute rides on the classic bikes, while electronic bikes are available on a per-minute rate.
